In 2022, Sovena was awarded with the bronze medal by Ecovadis, a collaborative platform that allows companies to monitor their performance in sustainable development.
This award recognizes our work in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

BCSD Portugal

Sovena joined the Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD) Portugal, a non-profit association that aggregates and represents more than 130 leading companies in Portu-gal, which are actively committed to working together to accelerate the transition to a world more sustainable.

Global Commitment

Sovena joined the Ellen Macarthur Foundation's “The New Plastics Economy Global Commitment”, which unites companies, governments and other organizations, in a common vision and commitment to reducing and more rational use of plastic, reducing its impact on the planet.
Our target is 3,500 tons reduction of virgin plastic by 2025 (31%), by recycled PET increase (28%) and an effective plastic reduction (3%). Follow our progress here

Act4nature

Recent scientific studies warn that the planet is losing biodiversity at an unprecedented rate, rapidly approaching a point of no return. According to estimates by the World Economic Forum, by 2020, more than half of the global economic value generated depends moderately or heavily on nature and is therefore exposed to its loss, which translates into huge risks for companies and their value chains.
With the act4nature Portugal initiative, BCSD Portugal continues to mobilize companies to act in favor of nature, implementing actions to protect, promote and restore biodiversity and ecosystem services that contribute to halting and reversing their loss by 2030.

Unidos contra o desperdício

Sovena joined Unidos Contra o Desperdício, through Fula and Oliveira da Serra brands. This is a platform promoted in Portugal by Banco Alimentar.

Pact for Water Management

The Pact for Water Management is an initiative that aims to place the issue of WATER at the center of the Portuguese national agenda. The entities associated with this initiative assume their responsibility to adopt more sustainable measures to contribute to more efficient water management.

Too Good To Go | Luta contra o desperdício

Reinforcing its strategy in the area of sustainability, Oliveira da Serra has joined Too Good To Go, a platform that makes available products and foods that would potentially go to waste and sells them below the normal price in Magic Boxes format.
Contributing to the circular economy actively with our products is a decision that demonstrates our firm commitment to the development of a more sustainable consumption. Undoubtedly, it is in this type of initiatives that we intend to participate, joining forces for the main objective: to raise awareness and promote zero waste.
